A gift for your mind and body: One of my bad habits is staying locked up inside all day on my computer. Just a few minutes outside can make me feel better both physically and emotionally.
So unless extreme weather or some other reason makes it dangerous to do so, spend time outside. Take a casual stroll. Or just sit still on your doorstep and breathe deeply for five minutes. Feel the air. Appreciate the view. Is it raining? Take an umbrella and listen to the patter of rain above your head. I've recently discovered I enjoy going for a stroll in the rain. It takes me back to my childhood on the perpetually wet Oregon Coast, when a little rain wasn't enough to keep me indoors.
Relax. Let worries and stress move aside. Give yourself these few moments to appreciate where you are, and that your presence is an irreplaceable part of the world.
